Questions About Insurance

How can I learn more about my benefits?

You may review the schedule of benefits for PIS here and for PIA here or call (123) 456-7890 and ask for an explanation.

Are my medical records kept private?

Your medical records are kept private, just as they would be in any medical or dental office. Your personal health information is kept confidential.

Has my coverage started? Can I use my dental plan?

Your coverage begins once your first premium payment has been received.  As soon as your first premium payment is received, your policy and your insurance card will be mailed to you, you are now ready to go to the dentist.

How do I know if my LTC facility is contracted with PIS or PIA?

The easiest way is to ask your Long Term Care Administration.

What if my TLC facility is not contracted with PIS or PIA?

It is as simple as asking your Long Term Care Administration to contract with the dental team, however your benefits are still effective at the many dental offices that are part of the network. You will still have access to dental care in the office based, community setting.

What do I do if I require transportation assistance?

You will provide a statement of service from the transportation company as well as the statement of dental service (which must be on the same date) to PIA or PIS, you will be reimbursed.

What are my options to pay my premium?

You may pay by check twice a year (six months of premium, twice a year) or initiate the ACH debit to your bank account and pay the premium monthly.

I am a Title IXX, Medicaid or public aid recipient, why would I purchase the PIA or PIS plan?

Your Medicaid dental benefit is inclusive dental coverage, the greatest problem with this coverage is locating dentists that accept the coverage. Access to Care with Title IXX, Medicaid, or Public Aid coverage is very limited. Your PIA or PIS dental plan will replace the Title IXX, Medicaid, or Public Aid coverage, giving you options to Access Care on your terms. Ask your Long Term Care Administration / Book Keeping Department to assist you with this income adjustment procedure or change in income liability procedure. It is a very simple process.

I am a Title IXX, Medicaid or public aid recipient, how would I purchase the PIA or PIS plan?

If you are a resident in a Long term Care Facility, a TITLE IXX, MEDICAID or PUBLIC AID RECIPIENT, and receive a social security or pension check, you are entitled to use your “personal funds” to purchase the PIA or PIS plan, just as you may already be purchasing your Medicare Supplemental insurance. Ask your Long Term Care Administration / Book Keeping Department to assist you with this income adjustment procedure or change in income liability procedure. It is a very simple process.

I am a Title IXX, Medicaid or public aid recipient, but do not receive a social security or pension check. How would I purchase the PIA or PIS plan?
